Dance Club Locations in the San Antonio and Surounding Area:
Times change and so do ownerships and names of Dance Halls.  We'll try to keep this site up-to-date if the owners of clubs will cooperate and keep their Dance Halls open.

  1. Midnight Rodeo: Presently the longest running C&W Dance DJ Nite Club in San Antonio.  Converted from a Handy Andy Supermarket in the 70's.   Dance floor isn't your usual square or rectangular floor but a race track oval.  Absolutely great for progressive dancing and thankfully NOT conducive to "Line-Dancing", but dancers find a way anyhow.

  3. Far West: The newest.  DJ oriented but featuring big name artists and popular local bands on weekends.  Also features live in-house bull riding rodeo Fridays and Saturdays ~11:00 pm.  Local live entertaunment Friday nights. Saturday nights may bring big name headliners.  Two levels. Large lower floor dance floor and smaller upper level dance floor.  Stage is Las Vegas Style layout for easy viewing from anywhere in the club.

  11. Gruene Hall:  Just off the banks of the Guadalupe River in the City of Gruene, Texas just north of New Braunfels.  One of the oldest dance halls in Texas and still going strong.  Consistent on tradition with plenty of character.  An old wooden structure that has hosted some of the biggest names in Country Western music.  A major drawback is "NO Air Conditioning!"   For you who dance a lot, dress light and maybe bring an extra dry shirt!
Caters to a lot of tourists.  Kids are welcome.

  13. Coyote's:   Grissom Road. Converted from an H.E.B. Supermarket in the early 90's.  Has the largest dance floor in San Antonio.   Has a raised stage at one end for live entertainment. (Closed Down)

  21. Cabaret's Honky Tonk:   Bandera, Texas.   Like Gruene Hall, it is designed after the old Texas traditional Dance Halls of old.  Big name entertainers come by often.
