MS Exchange/MS Outlook 97/98

The following are step-by-Step Instructions to set up MS Exchange
or MS Outlook in Windows 95/98, so that you can retrieve your personal Email from your
Internet Service Provider while at work or at any other compouter using Windows 95.

To help you set up your Outlook or
Exchange email so you can access your Home email from Work, Print this out for easy
reference. Then simply follow the instructions. Pay particular attention to the
highted selections in BLUE |

1. OPEN your "Exchange" or
"Outlook" Email program.
2. In the Menu Bar, go to Tools/Services
|

3. Under the "Services" tab,
click on the "Add..." button.
4. Then click on "Internet E-mail" to Highlight it.
5. Click on "OK"

This brings up the
following window to setup for Internet Email.
6. Under the "General" tab, enter the information as
shown except that you enter the data applicable to YOU and YOUR
account info!!.

7. Under the "Servers"
tab, Enter the information as shown.
"Account Name" is your "logon" name.
You can either enter your password here, or for Security reasons, leave it blank
here. It will ask you again each time you want to go out to get your internet
E-mail.

8. Enter the data as shown for the
"Connection" tab.
Since you're at work on a "Network or LAN", make sure the "LAN"
connection" is checked.
9. Don't worry about the "Advanced" tab.
10. Click "OK"

You're essentially finished now but none of the settings will take effect
until the next time you
or start Exchange or Outlook You will get the following
screen. Just click on "OK". |

To can check to see if the settings took place, begin by
going to "Tools/Services" in the the Menu bar again.
You should now see the new entry "Internet E-mail - ( or whatever
you named your new connection in step 6.)
If something doesn't work, you can go through theses settings to make sure all your
entries are correct.

Now, lets go get your mail:
In the Menu bar, go to "Tools/Check for New Mail On ..."

Make sure the "Internet E-mail ..." box is
checked,
Then click on "OK".
